Gothic/Industrial bands?

June 28th, 2009

I am looking for more bands to listen to that are goth/industrial or goth in general. What I have so far are the following:
-Deathstars
-Wumpscut
-Emilie Autumn
-Dope Stars Inc.
-Godhead
-Suicide Commando
-Doll Factory
-Cruxshadows
-Descendants of Cain
-Arts of Erebus

Do you have anything that you can add to the list that would be in the same catagory of music? Or if you listened to these bands and know of any others bands in another catagory that I would like please add them. Something in the rock catagory would be fine(Brittney Spears or Justin Timberlake do NOT qualify).

Musical taste – what’s yours? (Cross-section question)?

June 28th, 2009

One of the top stories on the yahoo webpage involves how musical taste can influence personality (or vice-versa).

It lists a few genres, hip-hop, jazz, classical, etc, but among them i found no point of reference for specific types of music such as bebop, darkwave (for example) or even funk (god forbid).

For those of you who have read the story, what kind of influences do you think that these (and others, if your musical taste does not correlate between the researcher’s finds and your own personality) genres of music would have on a person?

I like Indie (British) and I found the research not particularly accurate it depends what kinda of mood I'm in. I've read the summary of it but I'd have to read the actual research and polls to see for myself.Music is unique to people it affects them in different ways for example one person could listen to a heavy metal song and it could pump them with adrenaline where as someone else might feel depressed or angry by listening to the song.

Neuroticfish – Why Don’t You Hate Me

June 28th, 2009

Beautiful song by Neuroticfish, which no longer is making music for us. Too bad.

Lyrics:
I sit and watch the darkness
Slowly disappear
The first rays of sunlight
Reflecting in your tear
You said what you can’t handle
And never did before
I know you used to love me
But now I’m not so sure…

Why don’t you hate me?

I sit and watch the moonlight
Breaking through the trees
It feels like it is crawling
Revealing it’s disease
Maybe you don’t need me
And never did before
But now you have to hate me
‘Cause this is what I’m for…

Why don’t you hate me?

As I began to wonder
What has happened here
My sudden disappointments
Slowly disappear
I remember all you mentioned
I never did before
I wanted you to hate me
But now I’m not so sure…
