DJ Magal @ Machina Festival, Inferno 02
(Part 02 of 05) Since the late eighties, DJ Magal moved to Cais club, which later became Hoellisch, a dungeon venue located on the Core of Sao Paulo Metropolis on the Roosevelt Square. At that time, DJ Magal brought his very impressive knowledge on underground music from Madame Sata and turned to be a unique turntables professional with an essential achievement for that EBM / Industrial / Goth scene. The legendary Hoellisch cellars were composed by a dark corridor on the entrance level, a Psyche floor on the first level below with a passage to a small shop where you could buy all the Industrial / EBM / Goth bands shirts and the stairs leading to the Dancefloor level below. The lowest level was the hottest and the most devilish of them, composed by a dark dancefloor, the DJ Booth, a stage with a huge medallion painted on the dark wall and a passage leading to a cellar bar. It was on this atmosphere that you could hear gems such as Skinny Puppy, Vomito Negro, Front 242, bands from two major scenes of Industrial & EBM – Canada (leaded by labels such as Nettwerk) and Belgium (homeland of F242 and also labels such as KK, Antler-Subway and Play It Again Sam). On the end of this video you can hear ‘Don’t Crash’ (F242) which was a sure shot on the dancefloors of Hoellisch itself………… (Continues)
