What bands discuss literature, particularly horror and science fiction?
I am mostly fond of gothic rock, death rock, horror punk, industrial, industrial metal, EBM, power metal, gothic metal, doom metal, prog metal, death metal, neo-classic metal and heavy metal. Yeah, quite a variety, but there is quite a dirth of literary music in my selection. Any suggestions?

There are not tons of bands that only do literature but there have been many conceptual albums based on writings of fiction. Here is a list of what comes to mind.
Full/Partial Albums
Grave Digger-The Grave Digger (Edger Allen Poe)
Demons & Wizards-Touched By The Crimson King (a few of the songs are based on Stephen King’s Dark tower Series)
Blind Guardian-Nightfall in Middle-Earth (they have always had songs based on Tolkien’s writings. this album is based on The Simarallion)
Steel Prophet-Dark Hallucinations (5 of the songs are based on Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451)
Dawn Of Relic-Lovecraftian Dark (This CD and most of their others are based on H.P. Lovecraft)
Iced Earth-The Dark Saga (not quite literature but is based on the comic book Spawn. On the album before this one, Burnt Offerings, they did as song based on Dante’s Divine Comedy called oddly enough Dante’s Inferno)
I am sure there are tons more but these are what comest to mind. There are tons of songs based on writings of fiction but I stuck with just albums for now.

Umm, off the top of my head, Symphony X released an album called Paradise Lost, which was based off the poem/epic of the same name.

It’s inspiring to see that the newer bloggers are yet again aiming at bringing a more rounded content rather than just aiming on valueless and junky articles. Like this the assets of individual article are more likely to be discovered.
